Geoff Feder – Custom Knife Maker and Sculptor
Sculptor and knifemaker Geoff Feder teams up with Chef Charlie Palmer to create custom chef knives inspired by the chef’s renowned Pigs & Pinot event.
Feder, who served as a restaurant manager for Palmer in a previous career, brings an artistic sensibility and color theory to all of the custom, one-of-a-kind knives he creates, tailoring each one to the individual and its desired intent.
The size of the handle and blade is measured to the chef, along with expert precision for the design of its width, thickness, type of metal (carbon steel or stainless), handle, material, and color.
Feder’s collections include four styles: smaller picnic and oyster knives, utility knives, bushcraft knives and French-style chefs knives.
The Pigs & Pinot edition
To commemorate Charlie Palmer’s 12th annual Pigs & Pinot event Feder is collaborating with Palmer to develop 12 custom-crafted, limited edition chef’s knives. In true Pigs & Pinot fashion, each knife's handle will be made from repurposed, stabilized Kosta Browne wine barrels. All 12 knives are available at the Pigs & Pinot Silent Auction with a portion of proceeds going back to Pigs & Pinot charities.
Making knives and sculpture is just like cooking. Use great ingredients and with proper technique and hard work you can create something beautiful for people.
